Ancient Umbria was a province within the Kingdom of Chevkri that existed from Feburary 11th, after the Goldstone Ascension, to April 5th, 2021. It was immediately succeeded by the Social Republic of Chevkri, and after so, the Later Umbrian/Aetherian Republic, until the idea of Umbria officially dissolved after Pargonal Chevkri took over.
Realm of Umbria[]
The 11 Cities
The union of Greater Umbria and Zhaitker-Klend, The Realm of Umbria goes by many names to accommodate the vast demographic of its many peoples, each with their different origins. The history of this region goes back many (rp) centuries to a millennia.
Aetherians[]
Even as the Aetherians are their own splinter race from the Ancient Umbrian ethnic group, the title "Aetherian" is what is used to describe all the northern peoples as a whole, whether they are born here or immigrate here. You do not need to have Aetherian blood to be called Aetherian. As such, Umbria is also considered the "Aetherian Realm", a way to be inclusive to any and all who come to live here. They have cloudy hair and light blue skin. They can be found in Gigney.
Livadi[]
Led by Proctor Gooblegins to move to a new homeland for just their people, the Livadi have settled in New Livadia and have created the industrial heart of the province, rivaling the capital of Russantia or the wool industry in Royal Harbor. Many live there, with different backgrounds, races, and beliefs but all have the same identity under the ideals of growing their deserts into paradise.
Ancient Umbrians[]
The Ancient Umbrians are a people that trace their heritage both from Qeshbago and the old Umbrian migrants. They are a race of northern people, who have integrated in the Qeshbagan culture, but kept the ideals of democracy with them, and transferred it over to their old Triarchy system, and resistance to monarchies. They are identifiable with the fair skin and golden freckles. They can primarily be found in the regions of Zhaitker-Klend and Umbria.
Chevkri[]
The Chevkri people, who preside in Royal Harbor and Zhaskgrod, are a race of both animalistic and humanoid races that also trace heritage from Qeshbago, much like the Ancient Umbrians. However, they are more deeply-routed into the identity of Chevkri than their local province, but nevertheless live harmoniously in the province.
Democracy in the North[]
The Realm is purely democratic, with the Goldstone Family considered to only act as Hereditary Protectors. The Goldstones cannot make decisions for Umbria, without their people's consent. While, historically, Umbria has not been purely democratic with coming under rule by kings and absolute provincial governors, the belief in Democracy has always been strong and a sense of independence from the rest of Chevkri's [Ruling Nation] old Monarchy has prevented Umbria from being oppressed/overruled. As such, our current government is moving towards a system of a direct democracy, akin to its neighbor The Federal Republic of Montroig. The Parishah is governed by the elected position of Zoskora, who holds a term limit of two months, along with the Korods, who act as ministers for different sects of administration.
Belief in Cosmism[]
Unlike many religions in Rathnir, Cosmism is not a centralized belief but rather a way of life where one studies the stars and communicates to them for their own guidance, which always sets on a path towards self-improvement, self-love, and self-encouragement to achieve their own dreams and desires. Everything isn't made to suit the collective, but to suit the individual to become a better person.
History of Umbria[]
Under Qeshbago[]
Once, it was the heart of the Qeshbagan Empire and the place where the "Golden Kings" used to conquer and battle with the other ancient empires on Haven. In the Qeshbago golden age, technology reached epic heights and large cities dotted the Eastern Coast. However, as the years went on, the winds became hotter, the soil became drier, and the rivers that flew through the region shrank, cutting down crop yields by tons. A desert formed, called the Hot Belt, on the east coast, covering the many abandoned metropolises under sand and burying forgotten technology forever. Qeshbago's empire weakened, and it's heartland retreated inwards into Haven's core, leaving the people to the east to fight for themselves.
Second Sundering[]
The empire was thrown into chaos as internal instability, problems with leadership/corruption, and migrating peoples devastated the Barnuraqi Dynasty. Polystralian The Purist, in an effort to stave off the unrest in the region, invited the first arriving Umbrians, lead by Mane Umbra and Ursus, who came by sea from Northern cold winds, to settle south of his domain in Zhaitker-Klend, in exchange for being his mercenaries. Mane Umbra headed the construction of his people's new home, whilst fighting many battles against the invading barbarians/squatters arriving in the area. After Russantia's first phase of construction was completed, Mane Umbra got the blessing of Polystralian to hold his own independent fiefdom, establishing The Umbrian Empire.

Umbria is the only province to have an existing independent nation prior to joining Chevkri/Uldarash. As the Umbrian Empire, it had recorded history:
"Started on February 15 [2021] by sbbaseball21 the current high king in their 3 king oligarchy system where the people vote for the kings. That same day one king by the name of greyTubby stepped down after a assignation attempt on the high king. To show they don't take treason lightly they killed the attacker and have his head on a pike to this day. The peoples next king is a pink sheep by the name of Pinkos he leads them towards a new religion centered around him. As their capital city of Russantia grows so does there claim of land docs for trade have been set up as well as the great bridge that connects there capital building to the main settlement. Recently a unnamed fort has gone under construction as a defense against war well growing there army. On Moon island there potato farm grows, as does there spruce forest, and bamboo forest they still only need one grass block to begin the process of getting grass on the island. The terraforming of the island has slowed it remains a giant pancake with a folded front."

Umbrian Empire[]
The Umbrian Empire had a record number of 70 active players [word from sbbaseball21] and was visited by players all over Old Rathnir. It lasted more than a week, and in that time, popularity of the region skyrocketed more than Qeshbago itself, and players from all over visited Umbria. However, the population was too much for the government to handle and treachery, stress, and incumbency dominated Umbrian politics. The Empire reached its downfall when King Pinkos The Pink Sheep was murdered. Rumors had it that a traitor/bandit slew the Sheep next to the bridge on Moon Island, but the venerators of the Holy Sheep claim that he was struck by lightning, and followers claimed he was their god, ascending to Divine status. After the death of one of their kings, the empire was thrown into chaos and the entire civilization was about collapse.
Corruption from Hell[]
Portals from hell spread corruption all over Umbria, and the disease slowly started tainting the overworld. The empire collapsed as Kings Mane and Ursus desperately established martial law, abandoning civil administration, in order to turn the population into soldiers to combat the demons. Despite Umbria's power still being at its peak, it was shattered against demonic forces. Umbrians fled the nation for other places, most notably the Sparewood Chapter which fled to Auszan, whilst others joined the Holy Order that was forming in the south, being led by the remnants of Qeshbago, now under the leadership of the first proto-RexKnights of Rexhelm. The Holy Order was formed to combat not just Hell, but also the invading forces of Viodoxa, and their coalition forces. Haven was on fire. Justifiably, the Umbrian Kings decided to make a decision that would put their golden age to rest. On February 24th, 2021, The Umbrian Empire united with Old Qeshbago to form the Holy Chevkri Empire.

What is history is history, the Holy Chevkri Empire fought off the invaders, and once its mission was finished, sealing Hell away and aiding Uldarash in defeating the coalition, it joined Uldarash as a Federal Republic and Umbria became a province.
Province of Umbria[]
For the next year, Umbria would go on the decline, with minor changes happening here and there. Montroig would succeed it as a carrier of democracy in the East, and Ursus would go on to lead Chevkri in Uldarash. Mane Umbra stayed behind as governor of Umbria, with the changes only happening in cleaning Russantia up, along with the corruption. People split from the Umbrian culture to form the Aetherian culture group within the province of Gigney in the south, along with founding the Lunaist religion. Lunaism grew strength in Umbria and soon pushed out the local Pinkoist culture in favor of worshipping the moon, even converting Mane Umbra to the religion, spurring him to construct the first church in Russantia, in honor of Luna's name and to remember Pinko as a saint. However, this did not fix Umbria's decline as it experienced a period of stagnation and decline, and the province was finally put down under Apex Neon Belgrave of Chevkri, who dissolved the province of Umbria in order to form the Grand Duchy of Areus, a combination of ZTK, Umbria, and Gigney, which was made to make administration in Chevkri easier. However, this had the unintended consequence of spurring the Umbrian community back into action.
Goldstone Ascension[]

On January 27th, 2022, Apex Neon Belgrave dissolved Umbria, which spurred Vandoro, a Umbrian from Sparewood, into action.
Lost Umbrian Club[]
Vandoro had only revisited his ancestral homeland for a month, but upon visiting he felt a strong zealous bond to the land. Yet, when Neon had dismantled Umbria in favor of Areus, Vandoro went into a coma, in which the cosmos directed him to liberate Umbria. When he woke up, he worked with his adoptive father, Mane Umbra, to form the Lost Umbrian Club, a partisan group of Umbria, Gigney, and Lunaists. Collaborating together, they set to work on undermining Neon's reign and planning out the rebellion.
Umbrian Revolt[]
Chevkri was in its most turbulent time it has ever been in its history. Of course, there were more "less-than-stellar" times in Chevkri's past but this was pretty bad. Neon was accusing players left and right, and the stress of ruling had made him act irrational. Finally, the north rebelled behind Tom and John Tukker, whom attempted to rally the Chevkri people to arms against Neon, before Uldarash installed a Imperial Governor to put the rebellion down. It was in those desperate times that Neon appointed Vandoro as his Hand of The Apex, in order to quell the north from rebelling.
Restoring Umbria[]
As Hand, Vandoro pressured Class into leaving Areus and he soon assumed control over the province for himself, getting rid of the name Areus and recreating Umbria, which now included ZTK and Gigney. For the next two months, Vandoro would oversee the restoration of Umbria's population, infrastructure, reputation as a strong provincial power, and terraforming with the introduction of Alfheim's builders. Mary Belgrave-Goldstone would aid in revitalizing ZTK, John and Tom Tukker would work to clean up Gigney and Roris, and Vandoro set out to put Chevkri in check.
Reign of Vandoro[]
Not too long afterwards, Apex Neon retired from his position, and placed Chid as his successor. This gave Vandoro immense amounts of power since Chid did not do anything as Apex while he was Hand. Vandoro kept Chevkri together and focused on bringing the community together and keeping it from collapsing. In that time, he oversaw the Sacking of Roris, as the residents of Roris burnt their own city to the ground, but not before leaving it entirely. Tom Tukker took over the city and restored it, and had it transferred to Gigney later down the line. Vandoro continued to work in Chevkri and restore democracy, before leaving office after less than a month. Before leaving as Hand of The Apex, he had installed a constitution in Umbria that hadn't been seen since the Empire of Umbria. At first, he restored the triarchy, which was inactive no one did anything. What was important was the sense of democracy and voting that would later be a source of pride for many Umbrians.
Restoration of Umbria[]
The province soon experienced an increase in population, as it doubled in growth and sprouted many newly-inhabited cities. The trend was going high as the province got the attention it desperately needed. Terraforming was continuing at a slow pace by Alfheim, and industry was starting to form. Ancient Umbria went from being one of the most inactive province in Chevkri, to being second only to Laurentides. Soon, however, Vandoro stepped down as Caretaker of The North, and Xanbir Zarani would be elected into office as the first Zoskora, which included a new constitution. Thus, the Goldstone Ascension ended, and dawned the age of Umbrian democracy.
Social Republic of Chevkri[]
Declared by Ursus/Xanbir Zarani found out the Late Kingdom of Chevkri was going to dissolve. Right after, Umbria suffered from a civil war against the Lunaists, to which it ended in a S.R.C. victory with the help of the Union of Haven. However, the S.R.C. dissolved around 2 months later by the Dynasty of Qeshbago.
Republic of Umbria[]
The Republic of Umbria was headed by Tomhins, who declared himself President for 3 months. Under Qeshbago, Umbria oversaw a rare state of real peace, until the Haven War between the Commonwealth of Haven and The Horde. After the Horde fell to take on the Commonwealth, Qeshbago fell apart from political infighting, and soon Umbria became independent. It soon transformed into the "Aetherian Republic" after taking over ZTK, and sought to take over Russantia from Elys, which was taken by the decendant of Vandor, Arcadia Flavia-Goldstone, and her husband, Palus "Dampswamp" Shan-Toss. But Umbria was soon consumed by Paragon, and ZTK joined Elys. Thus, ending the "concept" of Umbria.
Kingdom of Elys[]
While not officially "Umbrian", Elys claims direct heritage from Umbria through its bloodline to Vandoro Umbra, via Arcadia's son, Nythres, who is the Czar of Russantia. They worship a Purple Sheep, Big Larry, who is seen as a ancestral being to Pinkos, the Pink Sheep of old. They do not practice Lunaism or any other Umbrian customs, however.
