Aridia , also known as the Empire of Aridia, is a pre-stoneworks civilization that used to rule a large area in the world of Flare, but has since become a travelling realm.
Aridia's queen is Jules Daridia, the sister of Gabe Daridia.
History[]
Aridia was founded when Gabe Daridia, formerly known as Gabe, constructed a building on the side of a shallow lake. With the arrival of other people, including his friend Giuly, the city of Lakeside was founded, which soon became the first capital of a country named Lakeside.
Records of the history of Lakeside are limited, but it is known that, at it's peak, the town had multiple wooden houses, a concrete building, a bank, and various decorative objects, including a racing car.
The Aridian expansionist policy was one of the first examples of colonization through development, as the empire was known to construct buildings in unowned lands, and charting them in the Aridian de jure territory.
It is known that the monarchy was forced to flee from the world as a planetwide disaster struck, known as the Flare Wipe. While it is unknown what the true nature of the Flare Wipe was, some sources speculate that it may have been caused by a dramatic rise in water levels throught the world, either caused by an asteroid or global warming.
Since then, Aridia has been known to claim lands in multiple other worlds to sustain itself. The only known occurrences of this outside of Eldham and Rathnir are Aridia-Rubrum, which was established to mine local resources of terracotta, and Aridia-Rinnata, Where the diplomatic failure that kicked Gabe Daridia from Aridia occurred.
As of recently, Aridia has not been seen colonizing, seemingly in a self-sustaining state while travelling in the external region. Gabe Daridia considers this period as the 'Pax Aridiana', a term that he coined.
