Associated Territory of Wera Atoll

Wera Atoll, or in Native Weranesian, "Rohe Pāhono Otoda Wera Atoll", is an island territory currently under Kush administration. It's located in the Kushite sea. Before annexation by Kush, it was claimed by Cobbleworks. The settlement with the same name was founded by the Kushite Glquagmire (Now Galaxyko) on the 23rd of Feburary 2021.

Pre-history

The atoll itself was formed millions of years ago due to volcanic activity. In antiquity, Werai sea faring peoples landed on the atoll's shores and named it "Wera", meaning hot, because of all the hot magma heating up the water.

The Werai people vanished long before modern colonization, only leaving behind a statue of a creature resembling a rabbit, which may serve as evidence of land animals living on the island, which is rare on Rathnir, especially so due to the island's geographical isolation.

Modern history

After the initial Weranesian settlement was abandoned by its inhabitants, the island lay dormant for a time, until its recolonization by Team Legendary and their allies, again in the name of Kush, in order to increase Kushite presence in the northern Kushite sea.

The team founded the settlement Veratol on the remnants of the previous settlement, transforming the island into a military outpost.

Flag

The original flag was a Kush tricolor with 3 red corals on it, The red coral represented the ocean, while the number of the corals reflects the landscape of the island, "Ngā Pūnga Maunga" (now Castle Hill), "Tūmanako Maunga" (now Point Dirt), and the atoll itself. The flag's name was "The Kyuss".

The current flag of Veratol likewise uses Kush colors, with a floral pattern in the center, symbolizing the Cactine faith of its inhabitants.
