Coryism[]

This Religion was founded upon the belief that every player is similar, through one bond that they share to Cory. Cory was the founding father of the Caravan, which is known to now have constructed the Great City of Al-Lughnod. Coryists celebrate the 'New Coming' (To other civilizations this is simply known as "The New Moon"), the reason for Celebrating the New Moon is the belief that it is a sign from their lord (Cory) that he is unpleased... seemingly needing to be showered with more ethereal gifts.

Most Common in this practice of sharing gifts with their lord is the sacrifice of Animals, and Grain. It is said that if you give from yourself, or refuse to eat for a period of time - you will have guidance from Cory's hand in the afterlife.

Prominence[]

The Religion is seen as Prominent only in the areas of Al-Lughnod. This is due to the Religion being seen as more of a 'Cultist Society' to the King, Wacko. This has largely caused for the locking in of the citizens from Al-Lughnod, apart from those who serve in the Parliament for the Kingdom. Outsiders who take part in this religion are encouraged to travel to the Holy Capital, and to partake in the Sacrifice to he who died for us.

Theories on Coryism[]

  • Coryism is a Occultist Society, based on the sacrifice of animals - and players alike.
  • Coryists are Savages, killing those who do not follow the religion.
  • The 6 Coryists who took up arms against the natives were guided by The Hand of Cory, on that Fateful Night.

These theories would seem to hold some truth to an outsider, however each one of them has their own and complete explanation.

Number 1: Coryism is based on the Belief that all Players on Rathnir are united by one figure, Cory. This is not an Occult - Sacrifices are made to our God in order to Suffice for our Sins, and to Repent.

Number 2: Coryists Regularly welcome trade, travel and business to the city of Al-Lughnod. Welcoming those to the Tavern who ask, including other city run buildings.

Number 3: The Brave men who took up arms against the Natives on the Night of Reclamation were infact guided by The Hand of Cory - With FatherVirtus making a large sacrifice before going into battle - ensuring a decisive victory.

How to Practice Coryism[]

Anyone can practice Coryism from their home, or their city.

City Building: It is recommended to - construct a totem, or a pillar to Coryism in any town in which you are attempting to spread the religion to. Tower should include a Minimum of 2 Diamond Blocks, showing that you are sacrificing your own wealth to the greater good of the religon. Site should include worship mats, and an area for Coryists to be able to sacrifice their items to Cory.

Home Building: Construct a burning pit in your home, this can be made from campfire - or alternatively netherrack or soul sand lit on fire (Soul Sand is HIGHLY recommended). In this fire is where you shall throw your sacrifices to Cory into the blaze - if done properly you will be blessed by his Hand.

RELIGION IS ONLY TO BE PRACTICED EVERY NEW MOON CYCLE.
