Alcuinas Alban (ingame: SeemsVeryLegit) is a human from the village of Redding under Seaside in the Seahaven Union, on the furthest southeast corner of Plagos. For this village, fishing and mining were the main sources of income and food, but following the Roman-Seaside War, had left the village ravaged. With nothing left in the village Alcuinas left for the main city in the province, Seaside. Initially on his lonesome in the city after a short introduction by St.Acol, then leader of the city, began to tinker with the redstone mined from under the city. These experiments were responsible for him being approached by a prince of Baronov, Shwointshounburg to join a recent university project. Taking up the new University of Baronov as the Head Scientist, he began to make plans to expand the University and his new redstone contraptions.
Childhood[]
To help support his village of Redding, Alcuinas helped his father, a local fisherman as most in the village were. When he grew tired of fishing, he began to turn his attention to the mines under the Shattered Sea to help supplement his family. During times of stress or family arguments, Alcuinas would hide in the mines under the village, causing him to be somewhat unsociable and awkward, preferring to stay quiet. It wasn't until he had turned the age of 17 had anything of notice occurred to the village, following the Roman-Seaside War. Being destroyed in the onslaught of the war, Alcuinas had been hiding in the mines to avoid a recent argument, and was spared.
Going To the Big City[]
With his village gone, and the war raging, Alcuinas journeyed to the capital of the territory, Seaside. Constructing a raft out of the wreckage left from the battle, he sailed northward to the main city. His time at sea left him more reserved and worn, but had left him somewhat more independent. Arriving to Seaside itself had led him to meet the mayor of Seaside, St.Acol - who gave him an apartment and basic supplies to help Alcuinas adjust to the new city life.
University Work[]
Despite being the newest arrival to Seaside, nothing of note changed. Alcuinas noticed himself sometimes being the sole individual around, a result of the prior leading to most of the population being away, or in hiding. Taking up mining once more and heading into the underground, Alcuinas continued to work as he once had almost without change. It wasn't until he came across a red ore named redstone that caught his attention. Prior involvement with it was with his father when they needed to arm their explosives, and what few lamps they owned. With no one around and seemingly stacks of the material and iron to work with, he began to tinker. A prototype of a flying machine using redstone as the core component was in the works when he submitted it's blueprint to a passing noble to prove a point in an argument he held with him on the usefulness of redstone.
Seemingly satisfied with the blueprint, weeks passed until eventually the same noble returned with an offer for Alcuinas - a place as a researcher for an University of Baronov (11/12/21). With nothing of particular note occurring in Seaside and Acol himself being quiet, he seized the chance and left for the neighboring state in the union. It was around this time CaptainNorth370, the King of Baronov began to commission a new prototype for the flying machine, for an unstated purpose (Seaside Civil War).
Civil War[]
The political situation of Seaside-Baronov had begun to decay, as Jaxfon, the former King of Seaside had officially given the title to St.Acol - someone whom the politicians of Baronov had begun to take a dislike to. After showcasing and producing more redstone contraptions through the University for Baronov, Alcuinas was invited to Operation Valkyrie, a coup plan to remove St.Acol for someone more favorable for the union. (1/24/22) Declining the offer to be made the new King of Seaside (seeing himself as unfit to lead) Alcuinas turned the war council to a new candidate, Nick07. While still loyal to the Seaside-Baronov Union, Alcuinas remained relatively quiet and watched from the side, giving advice regarding what St.Acol was doing to the city as both sides geared for war.
Nomad[]
Following the Seaside Civil War ending (2/4/22), Alcuinas found himself tired and worried. The war may have ended, but it was rumoured his machines were stolen and may have been used to harm his fellow countrymen. He himself trusted Acol but after the reports on what Acol had committed, and his past - Alcuinas was left concerned for the remaining corruption in the union. Deciding that Plagos was too unstable, he turned his attention to a nation he had previously gained citizenship from during a previous University project, Paloro. Packing what few things remained from his apartment in Seaside, Alcuinas began his trek to Paloro starting with a journey through Najer and the Imperium.
Initially avoiding all the townsfolk in Najer, barring the inns that he stayed in, Alcuinas meet fellow wanderer Lexi - who was traveling to Ashura following an exodus from their previous Simulami village. Travelling up through to the coast, both were beset upon by a horde of skeletons, and being forced to flee from the undead riders, Alcuinas and Lexi had lost each other in the chaos.
